YO Activities During APGC 2022

The Asia Pacific Glaucoma Conference (APGC) in conjunction with Malaysia-Singapore Joint Ophthalmology Congress (MSJOC) was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 4th August till 7th August 2022.

SSO YOs together with the YOs from MSO jointly organised two YO activities namely the YO Night and the YO Symposium.

YOs from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia took the opportunity to meet and mingle during the YO night on 6 August 2022, and the attendance of prominent ophthalmologists in the region such as Prof Keith Barton and Dr Chelvin Sng made the event even more memorable.

The YO Symposium held on 7 August 2022 was a great session where YO reps from Malaysia (Dr Sudhashini Chandrasekaran), Singapore (Dr Claire Peterson) and Indonesia (Dr Widya Anandita) shared updates on YO activities from their respective countries.

Dr Marcus Ang presented regarding the upcoming APAO YO Rising Stars Program which was well received by the enthusiastic crowd. A sharing session by Dr Pushpa Raman regarding her experience of going through an international fellowship was an eye opener as well as a motivation for many who were present.
